Urban commuters deserve a dedicated aventon e-bike. And Aventon's Pace and Level are two of the most popular e-bikes on the market today. Both models are great value for money and have a wide range of features that make them ideal for commuting or casual riding.
But what is the difference between the two electric bikes?
The Aventon Level is an e-bike designed for commuters and urban riders. It features a lightweight aluminum frame, 20-inch wheels, and a powerful motor to get you up and running quickly. It has a built-in headlight and taillight, fenders to keep you dry in wet weather, and a rear rack for carrying cargo.
The Aventon Pace is a great option for riders who want an affordable yet functional e-bike. The Pace has a 250-watt motor, which provides plenty of power for climbing hills or cruising around town. It also features a 7-speed Shimano gearing system, making it easy to find the perfect gear for your riding conditions.
Aventon Level and Aventon Pace
The Aventon Level is technically more powerful than the Aventon Pace. The Level has a more powerful motor than the Pace and also has a suspension fork, while the Pace 500 has a rigid fork. If you ride a lot on hills, gravel or bumpy roads, you'll feel the power of the Level.
But the Aventon Pace is lighter and more affordable than the Level. If you don't feel like you need maximum power and spend most of your time on paved roads, the Pace 500 is probably the way to go.
Aventon Level and Aventon Pace Design
Both Aventon Paces are built with a 6061 aluminum alloy frame and 27.5-inch wheels. Both the Pace 500 and 350 ride on 2.2-inch puncture-resistant tires with reflective sidewalls. The Pace features integrated taillights and bright headlights to keep you visible, and for easy commuting, the Pace is compatible with rear luggage racks and fenders.
The Pace 350 features mechanical disc brakes and a 7-speed trigger shift. Major upgrades to the Pace 500 include hydraulic disc brakes and an 8-speed transmission. At 52 pounds, the Pace 500 is a bit heavier than the 49-pound Pace 350. Both e-bikes come with a cadence sensor and a Selle Royal saddle.
The Aventon Level utilizes an aluminum frame connected to a front fork with 75mm of travel. Riders can shift through eight gears to synchronize with pedal assist levels and achieve controlled stopping with hydraulic disc brakes. The 27.5-inch wheels feature tires with reflective sidewalls for improved nighttime visibility.
Aventon Level and Aventon Pace Batteries and Motors
The Pace 350 takes its name from its 350W rear hub motor, capable of a top speed of 20mph. Riders can switch between five pedal assist levels and throttle modes. The 11.6Ah lithium-ion battery is cleverly integrated into the downtube, providing 40 miles of range.
The Pace 500 is the 350's big brother, with a more powerful motor and a larger 12.8Ah battery. The 28mph top speed is faster than the 350, but both models have the same range. Both e-bikes connect to a handlebar-mounted color display as well as the Aventon Bike app for easy tracking of riding metrics and battery levels.
Aventon Level models all boast a powerful 500W rear hub motor capable of 28 mph with pedal assist and a top speed of 20 mph in throttle mode. This mid-size motor is strong enough to keep up with the pace of the car without adding undue weight. There's also a useful walk mode that helps push the bike up hills or steep driveways.
Equipped with a high-capacity 14Ah lithium-ion battery, the Aventon Level allows the urban e-bike to travel up to 40 miles on a single charge. Gone are the days of worrying about running out of battery mid-ride or forgetting to charge it. It only takes 4-5 hours to fully charge. The battery also powers a backlit LCD display showing vital metrics like speed, range and pedal assist level.
